June Plum Food began in 2013 as Jamrock Food, started by Chef Jodi, serving Jamaican-inspired home-style cooking from a small food trailer in the Homebase car park in Wellingborough. What started simple soon grew, guided by a love of flavour, community, and sharing good food.
In 2014, the business moved into its first brick-and-mortar space, and later that year settled into a place that became a home for many years. Those early experiences shaped the way Jodi works: with care, creativity, and a focus on making food that’s approachable, authentic, and full of flavour.
In 2019, Jamrock Food became June Plum Food. The name is playful and personal — “June” for Jodi’s birthday, and “Plum” because, well… she’s a plum! It also reflects the food today: rooted in Jamaican tradition but open to fusion, bold flavours, and a touch of fun.
Today, June Plum Food focuses on catering, cooking classes, and a range of handmade sauces and seasonings. Everything is designed to make Jamaican flavours easy to enjoy at home — from a jar, a class, or a shared meal.
