June Plum Story
June Plum Food began in 2013 as Jamrock Food, started by Jamaican-born chef Jodi from a small food trailer in the Homebase car park in Wellingborough.
After struggling to find the food she grew up with, Jodi began cooking the dishes she knew and loved — and sharing them with others. What started small quickly grew through word of mouth, driven by a love of bold flavour, community, and good food.
In 2014, the business moved into its first brick-and-mortar space, later settling into a home that served the community for many years. Those early experiences shaped June Plum Food into what it is today: thoughtful, creative, and rooted in authentic Jamaican cooking.
In 2019, Jamrock Food became June Plum Food. The name is playful and personal — “June” for Jodi’s birthday, and “Plum” because, well… she’s a plum. It reflects food that’s grounded in Jamaican tradition, open to fusion, and full of character.
Today, June Plum Food focuses on catering, cooking classes, and a range of handmade sauces and seasonings — all designed to make Jamaican flavour easy to enjoy, whether at home, at an event, or around the table.

June Plum Food is family-run, built on Jamaican flavour and human connection. Our mum, Momma Jo, was the heart of it all! Known for her warmth, her chats, and the way she made everyone feel seen. Since her passing, we’ve changed how we work, but not why. We’re still here, just in a different way, carrying her spirit forward in everything we do.
